Don't want to embark on a moss eradication mission without actually knowing what i'm doing.

but the moss has taken over and is choking the grass, how do I sort it without trashing the lawn?

i think you rake out the moss which does leave bald patches, and then you sew grass seed all over according to the instructions on the pack. i did this, and sewed seed in sept so it's just beginning to get thicker now. i'm hoping it will thicken up now.

What lovely dear said.I'm trying green thumb to see if they can sort it on my lawn.

You buy a lawn spreader and a 25Kg bag of Lawn Feed, Weed and Mosskiller, and wait for a dry day.

Three weeks later you rake the surface loose and sprinkle grass seed on the bald patches.

By June, you have a crackingly good moss free lawn again.

I think i'll start a save Moss campaign

i like it; it is green isn'it? It doesn't need cutting like grass.

Birds use it to line their nests.

If you blend it in to your lawn it 'll be fine..
