wow, i've not even heard of those!

i'm afraid i go with Suttons and Unwins, which is a bit predictable, i suppose, but htey have the easy-to-grow stuff!

meltedmarsbars · 08/02/2010 12:27

They didn't use to have a website till very recently wallis seeds Everything comes in plain white envelopes, which I suppose keeps the cost down. And you can buy some things by weight for field growing!

The J Parker one is the commercial arm of the J Parker who advertise in all the Sunday supplements.

I use Dobies and [http://www.realseeds.co.uk/] for unusual and organic stuff.

I also buy lots of seeds at Aldi and Lidl - last year I had a really good success rate with their very cheap (39p per packet) seeds.

duckyfuzz · 08/02/2010 19:32

thompson and morgan

I swear by Franchi for veg... you get loads in a pack and the success rate is great
I also do Sarah Raven for poncey flowers and organic gardening catalogue for everything else

Ingles2 · 08/02/2010 19:35

Franchi Seeds of Italy

taffetacat · 08/02/2010 20:18

I use Sarah Raven for the sheer gorgeousness of it, great descriptions and pictures and love her choices, but I get the ideas from there and then buy the seeds from Chiltern Seeds as you get much more for your money from them and they have a massive range.

....and club together with gardening friends to do bulk order of bulbs twice a year from Peter Nyssen. They do plants too. No seeds though.

Great thread and lovely websites! May I ask where anyone orders their seed potatoes & onion sets/garlic from? Thanks!

meltedmarsbars · 09/02/2010 10:37

Garlic I keep from last year - (remember to plant on the shortest and harvest on the longest day! )

Spuds - I also keep my own seed but get a few extras from a local garden centre who sell hundreds of varieties loose. Its full of men in flat caps!
