Lily POLLEN poisonous to cats

When I went to pick my cat up from the Cattery today, I was given a photocopy of an article about how quickly a cat died after just brushing against a bunch of lilies (and presumably ingesting pollen when grooming subsequently). Apparently pollen is well known to be HIGHLY poisonous to cats, but I'd never heard that mere pollen could be so dangerous.

Just thought you might like to know...

my neighbour's new kitten was poisoned a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately she's recovered but is still very thin compared to her brother.
