Do you just bin/compost the plant after harvesting the sweetcorn?

OK. Thanks! We only had one sweetcorn per plant, and poorly pollinated ones at that. Do better next year!

I compost our sweetcorn plants.

Just a quick thought regarding the pollination issue (and my apologies if I'm teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs here), but if you plant sweetcorn in blocks e.g. 4 plants by 4 plants, you get much better pollination than if you plant in rows. Sweetcorn are wind pollinated so the closer together the plants, the better chance of pollination occurring.

Thanks shellingpeas. I only just found that out by reading the BBC and the RHS websites. Perhaps should have read them before planting...

My sweetcorn was harvested for me by some helpful badgers.
