what demon pest from hell could be eating my runner bean flowers? aarghh!!

I have lovely tall runner bean plants with loads of red flowers, but something is eating the most of the flowers before they get a chance to turn into a bean . I've put some net along one side of the runners, the other is against a fence so there's not much room for big birds like pigeons to nip off the flowers. I haven't even seen any birds near the plants. Any ideas what might be doing it?

can you hang shiny things on your nets and see if that works? (like cds)

That's reminded me I do have a stash of old cd's I kept for just this reason! Will go and hand them up in there now.

right, cd's have been hung around the net and the poles. Will report back in a few days to let you know if whatever it was has stopped eating the flowers...........
