Why didn't my paeonies flower this year?

The bush itself looks very healthy, just not a bud in sight.

I have absolutely no idea but just wanted to commend you on your correct and beautiful spelling of paeonies

Have you moved it recently?

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 09/06/2009 16:52

Mine only flowered very feebly. I think it might be because I overdid the mulching and the tuber is now too deep - apparently they should be just below the soil surface. Could you have done something similar?

Otherwise, I wonder whether this is one of those plants where the flowering depends on the previous year's weather, in which case it may be sulking.

Mine haven't flowered very well either. last year they were beautifull - this year I had 2 nice flowers and some stunted buds.

Perhaps it is the weather

Haven't moved it, planted it new last year and flowered nicely and this year it looks really good, but no flowers or buds. An older paeony is about 2 feet away from it, planted it the year before this one, and it looks fab.

Who knows???!
