Hi, I have bought cleared dug redug and raked 1 million times, my eeny tiny new garden. I followed teh instructions on teh grass seed packet, adn three weeks later my lawn is coming up nicely. However, it's a bit patchy. Esp where it's v shady. Can I chuck on more grass seed over the new lawn, or should I wait, or what can I do?? It needs to be ready for the summer so my toddlers can play somewhere..

Have you used a shady grass mix? Some grasses won't tolerate shade well, so buy a mix specifically for shady places and patch with this seed. Also, where it's shady check that it's not dry as well e.g. under a tree or the like as dry shade is not an ideal mix for a good lawn!

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I even used a shady lawn mix, as most of the lawn is under shade. Ok, off to get more lawn seed tonight then, thanks for the confirmation. Apologies for the spelling in the original post, I've no excuse really!

Mix seed with a handful of compost for the really stubborn patches.
