Growing borage

Just bought a small borage plant. I want to keep it in a pot so I can take it with me when we move (in rented). Is borage OK in pots? Where should I place it?

IME once you have borage, you will never get rid of it- outside it seeds like mad! should be fine in a pot but can grow to about 2 feet high- so you need a reasonably big pot and it might need a support as they can get quite floppy.

I had to move house to leave the self-seeding borage behind!

It is a largeish herbaceous plant with small, star-shaped bright blue flowers.

I planted two little plants in our strawberry patch, as they apparently like growing near each other . This is my first foray into gardening and I'm trying to stay organic, so thought I'd experiment with companion planting. The borage is not so little now but the strawbs are thriving so maybe it does help...

Bees also love the flowers, so am not too bothered about the self seeding but sounds like I'll have to keep on top of pulling up any I don't want in the strawberry patch (as would rather more strawberry plants than lots of borage!). Maybe I should move one plant to another bed full of cottage garden type plants...

Although since we're only renting too, maybe I'll also become a borage refugee one day

I too have been trying to get rid for years.
Caitni, borage has the longest tap roots on record ime, its not so easy to pul it up.
