How to re-pot a Christmas Cactus

Any advice on how/when/whether to re-pot a Christmas Cactus?

It is growing and flowering splendidly (surprising really because most indoor plants that I touch just die). It is nearly 3 times as big as it was last year, but is still in the same tiny pot.

Does it need a bigger pot?

How to do this without damaging it/myself.

Any advice gratefully received.

can't remember rules on repotting for them but they are not really cacti - caled schlumbergerer?? or something similar. having said that I inherited my nans ones and repotted them about a year ago into normal multi purpose compost and pot was 2 fingers wider all the way round than the previous iyswim. They are doing lovely and I normally stick them in the greenhouse for the summer too. Good luck!
