How have I managed to kill 8 cucumber plants and a melon in the last week?

planted in growbags in the greenhouse. watered faithfully but all have curled up and died. why? should i bother to get any more?
the tomatoes and peppers are doing nicely.

Could you have overwatered the cucumbers? From memory, you have to keep the compost moist but not waterlogged.

Don't know about melons.

I think it is too early for cucumbers to be inthe greenhouse from what I have read and I guess the same would go for melons.

As WynkenBlynkenandNod says, they may have got too cold? Don't know where you are in the country, but it's been damn cold round here the last few nights, after glorious (cloud-free) days.

Cukes are very susceptible to cold and draughts. Mine died when I took them out of the propagator . My melons are tougher and survived fine, but that might be variety dependent.

Deffo too cold. I'm in Scotland, and I have mine inside still and won't put out for a few weeks. I'd put them out during the day if it's warmish and sunny (cos greenhouse will be nice and hot) but always take in at night.

DH also said we had a frost the other night which could have got to them.
