.... 1. Can I cut the leaves down or do I need to wait for them to die off?

  1. Some of them are in pots which I'd like to plant other things in. Can I take them out now or do I have to wait?

Thanks

If you want them to be good next year, it's best to let the leaves die off naturally - because all the time the leaves are there, they are storing up more energy in the bulb for next year's growth. But you could move them into something else if you want to reuse the pots for something else.

Thanks AMumInScotland.
I will leave them alone then.
