Garden fencing - How much is reasonable?

I am looking to put up standard lap fencing in our garden which is approx 3.4 metres wide and 9.8m long plus a new gate. Can anyone advise approx cost, I'm in london. I'm in the process of getting several quotes but the first one has come back at just under £1400

We had 2 fence panels and a gate put in our garden and it cost £290 (inc VAT). Took him half a day to do. Based on that your quote seems okay (you maybe need about 12 panels?). We're home counties. I think fence building is a profitable business to be in!
