Willow screening or reed - What's the difference?

Hmm - willow, even the dead-looking stuff, will root, sprout and grow. Reed won't do that. If you want it to sprout and grow, choose willow, if not, choose reed, after allowing for price.

Willow screening doesn't root as far as I know, think it is dead by the time it's made into rolls.
I think the only difference is appareance, reed is a bit more delicate looking.
Price is the same in the local DIY stores, presuming you mean this kind of thing?

Sorry just checked the prices and reed is quite a bit cheaper.
I prefer it though as I think it looks a bit smarter than willow, though willow woudl look good in a more country/cottage type garden I think.
