talk to me about busy lizzies

Hiya,

Have ordered lots of busy lizzie plugs which should be arriving any day now. I plan to put them in 16" semi circular hanging baskets that I will hang on my fence.

Rubbish at gardening so really want to know how many plugs to put in each basket, how far apart should I plant them so that my baskets can be all full and flowery? Also, how long does it take to go from plugs to flowering?

Thanks

If you want full and flowery then use good compost, slow release feed and those water retaining granules and be prepared to water every day if necessary.

Quantities - well, you can plant in the flat top and down the sides too. I would say about 7 on the top (one in the middle and 6 round the edge) then another half dozen down the sides. But then you wil have to look after them, keep them in a greenhouse for a while to grow on. You might need more. 6 weeks to flowering? I am guessing here.
