Could somebody please recommend something that will survive in pots in full sun all day, I have got sun trap patio and most things can't survive out there even when watered every single day, it gets so hot the flags burn your feet on very hot days.

stuff that comes from the mediterranean - or from deserts. so the tough herbs like rosemary oregano marjoram thyme. lavendar, stuff with silver leaves like cistus, artemisia, ceonothus cnerom (sorry about spelling). Lotus flower. Geraniums, especially scented leaved ones.

or go for houseleeks - very fashionable at the moment. black aeonium, all those cactussy/succulent things. Lots of alpines put up with a good scorching too.

Agree with missing, anything that doesn't need too much water. Bizzy lizzies, geraniums, brachyscome, santolina. Petunias and osteospermums do okay in hot sun if you can water them each day. Phormiums, yuccas and grasses.
