Cutting from a Camelia?!

What is the best way to take a cutting from another Camelia? Is it better to cultivate in water or the ground? Or is it impossible?

Pruned our camelia last year after it flowered and just stuck 3 cuttings into small flowerpots of compost. They all took though the 2 I gave to a friend died, ours is still going strong!
I wasn't really trying to get more camelias, I just couldn't waste all of the stuff I hacked off the original

I thought it might work like that. I did the same with a rose bush and i was so chuffed when it rooted. Unfortunately i ws moving it and accidentally pulled all the roots off. Didn't murder the other one though!
