Fruit bushes - quick advice please??

while i think about it - raspberry, blackcurrant and gooseberry - do i need to chop them right back or something like that? or can i leave them?

chap on the allotment down from us seems to have chopped his into oblivion...

Blackcurrants and gooseberries can be pruned if you fancy it - it's not essential but if they are getting a bit congested you want to aim for a "goblet" shape and remove crossing stems. Raspberries, I don't have any but I believe it depends what sort you have. Summer-fruiting ones should have all canes that fruited last year cut right back to the ground. Autumn-fruiting ones you just cut right back.
