I want to remove a water feature....

...how do I do it? The electric cable runs from the garage underneath the patio to the water feature and I want it out! Can I do it myself? Or do I need to get someone in? And if so (excuse me if I'm being really thick here) do I get a gardener? Or an electrician?

You will have to disconnect the cable from the electricity supply - unless it's a plug, you probably need to get an electrician in to do that. He'll have to turn off the electrics at your fusebox and take the cable out where it joins your electricity supply in the garage. Once that's done, you can do whatever you need to get rid of the feature itself - you can do that yourself if you're strong enough, because there won't be any electricity in it by then. If the cable runs under the patio it might be in a conduit, in which case you can pull it through. If not, you can just cut it neatly at either end once it's not connected any more.

Thanks AMumInScotland. I'll add electrician to the list of people I need to get in to sort stuff out....
