oh put yellow pebbles over a raised flower bed on friday, the dog has burrowed his way through most of it already. a friend said she thinks ther is something that i can get to stop him digging, does anyone know what or where i can get it?

ooer, looks like you have a digger. If so, nothing will stop him apart from physical barriers. My dogs are both incurable diggers. I have placed strong plastic mesh over my beds, stretched tight and anchored it with tent pegs (buried, or else they will dig them up as well!) As insurance, I have put one of those cheapie metal low fences around the beds as a deterrent to just walking onto the bed and digging. This makes my garden look weird in the off-season, but is fine in the growing season as the plants just grow through the mesh. Works for me and the devil-dogs, hope it helps for you

Provide him with somewhere where he CAN dig to divert him. A doggie sandpit, or an area of earth, with chews or goodies buried in, to encourage him to the area. You can't stop instinct, but you can redirect it to a more appropriate place.
