Cat poo in my garden!!!!

colditzmum · 18/03/2005 14:04

My garden is covered in cat poo, the lawn, and the woodchip under ds's swing. How can I get rid of it? My whole garden smells like a toilet, and I really want ds to be able to play outside this year!

yeah get the rubber gloves on love.... put your hand inside a bag and scoop it up then i usually put disinfectant down, not sure if this ruins the lawn though, mine seems fine.....
we suffer from this a lot and i hate it i throw little pebbles at the blighters.....

saintshar · 18/03/2005 14:23

The only thing I can think of is to scoop it uo in a nappy bad if you have any colditzmum.

I have just done my garden and found some too.

saintshar · 18/03/2005 14:24

That should be scoop in UP in a nappy BAG!! Typing whilst eating!

Pepper!
I had the same problem last year. Luckily we have an electric pepper grinder and seem to do the trick!
Well... that and getting the dog!

laneydaye · 18/03/2005 14:35

You need some lion poo. If cats see it they'll think there's a much bigger cat than them around and it'll scare them off. Honestly! We looked into this last year as next door's cats are always pooing in our garden.

There's also a plant that cats don't like the smell of. We put them in places where the cats came into the garden - it wasn't totally effective but it definitely helped. I can't remember what it's called though but will ask dh later and post then.

MrsDoolittle · 18/03/2005 15:01

I don't like cats either. I watched 3 blackbirds fledge last year, wouldn't if I had a nasty, stinky cat

MrsDoolittle · 18/03/2005 15:02

Well if you can't find lion poo, try the peppper.... it does work!

Twiga · 18/03/2005 15:35

Coffe grounds are meant to work - cheap solution if you drink lots of fresh coffee. Can also buy stuff in garden centre called 'cat stop' i think it's safe for kids and other pets. The make is 'growing sucsess' and smells very strongly of garlic. Here's a link to a similar thread, to give you some extra ideas pesky cats!

Surfermum · 18/03/2005 18:18

Colditzmum - the plant we put in was called Scardy Cat or Coleus caninus.

lavenderrr · 18/03/2005 18:20

cat traps

jangly · 18/03/2005 18:21

Silent Roar is good. Pellets soaked in lions urine. Its completely sterile and doesn't show up on the ground. You can get it from some garden centres, or online.

laneydaye · 19/03/2005 12:55

hows it going colditzmum?

Twiglett · 19/03/2005 13:00

tried lion poo and it didn't work

bought 20 sparkly windmills .. found next door's cat sitting on my table in the garden watching one of them going round with a look of bliss in its devilish face

have resorted to chasing them round the garden with a pan of water .. got them once so far

hate cats, hate cat poo, just swept up a load

laneydaye · 19/03/2005 13:02

get a water gun twiglett fill it up and leave it so its close at hand......

Twiglett · 19/03/2005 13:08

I shall do that (except DS will no doubt get me with it)

JoolsToo · 19/03/2005 13:13
