I was bought some hyacinths in compost in a pretty pot - they have now died

What do I do with them now?

According to my mum, you leave them until they die back then take the bulbs out, leave them in the garage until you want to plant them again.

If you plant them in the garden, they'll pop up next year and smell dreamy.
