Too late to plant bulbs?

I bought a load of bulbs yesterday but noticed there were not many left. Does this mean everyone has already planted their bulbs for spring flowers? Am I too late?

I was wondering this. I think you can but they come up later. Not sure though.

For the last three years I have planted most of my bulbs between Christmas and New Year. They did amazingly well, but were a little late coming up. In fact, tulips are better planted about now anyway - and this year I managed to get them in on time!

i've planted bulbs in january and got flowers. and my damn paperwhites, planted in October in a flurry of excitement when the first appeared on offer at Homebase, are about to flower now. So late is good.

just the right time for tulips
earlier and they can rot in the ground
go for it

It's a little late for daffodils (but not disastrously so - they'll probably do fine) and just right for tulips.

What did you buy?

Thanks and sorry I have not come back to this thread for days!

I bought crocus, iris, daffs, aliums & anemones.

Still not planted but hope to do it this weekend.

Thanks everyone!

depends on what kind of flowers you want. some are for planting now for spring and some will need to go in the ground late feb after all the frost.depends on where you live really.colder in north so leave it later
