apple tree/apples falling too soon

In our garden we have a huge apple tree..however every year loads of the apples fall to the ground BUT they are not fully grown..still too smalland i end up throwing them all away!! is there anyway to stop this..?

Nothing you can or should do, it's meant to happen - it's to keep the load of fruit to a level the tree can cope with, and to prevent there being excessive competition among the developing fruit for limited nutrients and water.

When the apples form you can go through the clusters and take away one or two from each bunch. This should give the remaining apples room and nutrients to grow properly
