What's digging up my bulbs?

I've planted loads of tete a tete bulbs in pots, I've noticed something has been digging in the pots, Any ideas?

Squirrels?

Slugs burrow a little bit before they lay eggs. I saw this and was amazed and then killed them all!

Squirrels probably. You can buy willow hoops to deter the little buggers.

I never seen squirrels here, perhaps it's slugs.

That's the thing. You don't see them. The furry little gits sneak in under the cover of darkness, even if you've never seen one during the day thy are still there.....lurking......waiting......plotting......

squirrels almost certainly. cover the pots in chickenwire and they cant get at them. looks a bit unsightly for a bit but they lose interest very quickly.
