these sweetcorn I planted. Can I eat them?

when do I know if they are ready or not?

the tassel bits on the end go brown.
They should be ready about nowish anyway.
You can also stick a nail (finger nail that is!) in to one of the corn niblet(?!) things and if it's milky rather than clear it means it ready.

Once the tassels go brown I peel a couple of leaves away a little while its still on the plant and do the nail thing.....
