Potatoes - tell me about ordering and delivery

I want to order some potatoes for the first time for my allotment. On the Thompson-Morgan website it says delivery December onwards, but the earliest suggested planting time is February. What am I meant to do with them in the meantime?

You don't have to buy special ones, if you cut the ones you already have in half then plant them then these should grow. My dad gug up ALL of our garden when I was a child and planted potatoes there.
Just wait until Feb, buy a bag from the supermarket and plant those. It'll be alot cheaper and they won't sprout too early.

We got a lovely crop from a bag of tesco value potatoes which had started sprouting in the cupboard

Just shoved them in and they grew...
