A question about lillies

Once the flowers have died off are you meant to cut the plant right back or just leave it to die off on it's own? The plant is in a pot and I'm hoping the bulbs will come back next year.

I think you are supposed to leave the greenery and it dies back on its own.
Have never had much joy with lillies coming back after the first year, but hopefully you will be luckier than me...

Yes just leave the stems and leaves to die back on their own. In spring next year tidy them up by cutting off dead stems and they will/should come back. Mine do and this is what I do each year.

it is a good idea to get rid of the cut stems (next year) in the bin or by burning htem as the dreaded lily beetles can lurk there
