why has my fir tree turned orange

any ideas? it only took a week or so but doesn't look well

There is a disease doing the rounds at the moment which is attacking conifer trees and the like. It's killing loads of plants all over the country. Otherwise, it may be drought or overwatering. Look at similar trees in your area for a clue as to what's happened to yours.

on no i've just noticed a slight orange patch on one of my other firs too. if it's a disease can i do anything?

cut the orange bit out of your other fir, if it's a disease it may help stop it spreading. Use clean secateurs and clean them again afterwards.

are they int eh ground or in pots? old or new? big or small?

they're both about 4 years old, one is 6.5 ft the other is 4 ft.the ft one is very orange, not much green left, the higher one only has one or two brown bits.

it spread really quickly on the smaller one. worried about the surrounding plants.
