What grass seed for a rubbish lawn?

We've just put down moss killer which has killed virtually the whole lawn as it was almost entirely moss anyway!
What grass seed would be a happy medium between robust/tough and attractive?
or shall we just turf it? is that expensive? Turf might turn to moss anyway as we're so surrounded by overhanging trees.
