Plant labels that don’t rub off or fade

I’ve been using a sharpie on those white plastic labels but find that the writing fades so it’s no longer visible and I can’t remember what things are. What do you find is the best long lasting label/pen combo?

Chalk pen/acrylic pen on metal works pretty well.
