What’s wrong with my mini rose bush?

it’s been healthy for years, i went to water it today (after a little while) and it’s missing leaves and buds from several stems and the leaves left on others are turning black 😞 any ideas or tips. I’ll be so sad if it dies. Hope you can make the photos out from the foliage in the background.

Looks like black spot - a fungal infection. Some cultivars are more prone to it than others and it is worse some years than others. You can spray for it if you are happy to use chemicals. There are other things you can do to improve things. I’d prune out all of the dead (brown) stems. Weed well underneath it and clear away any fallen leaves as they harbour this fungal spores. Water well and mulch. Lots of advice on the RaHS website
