Apple trees from Home Bargains bought in 2023, any advice?

I bought 2 apple trees from home bargains in 2023. They were about 4 foot tall and have grown to about 5 foot 6.
There are some very small apples. Size of golf ball.
Would you keep these trees or plant something else?

See what happens next year.
Ive got a patio russet apple tree I got in '23 and only little apples this year, but fingers crossed for next year.

Fruit trees take years to get fully established and productive. You need to allow 5-10 years for most types, and up to 30 for some. Apples are at the short end of that range, but you still need patience.

Are they crab apples? Was there a label with the variety?

It took about 4 years for our dwarf Apple trees to establish, we did let them grow I to normal size trees though rather than keeping them small

Its not a crab apple. Do you think 5 years is realistic? I cant wait 30 ill be 80!
I planted a pear tree two years ago from a nursery. I had fully formed fruit!

The nursery one was probably older when you bought it. The HB one was almost certainly only 1 year old, nurseries usually sell at 3 years.

It won't be 30 years for an apple tree - that's things like quinces and walnuts. But I'd not expect anything at all in the first 3 or 4 years, and not full crops until close to the 10 year mark. You should get increasing amounts from 5 years onwards.
