Best secateurs and shears

I am fed of buying cheap secateurs and shears that don’t last a season and either fall apart or are completely blunt within a week! So recommend me your best brands that don’t cost me an arm and a leg.

Niwaki - a Japanese brand recommended by a village elder and high priestess of gardening. Haven’t succumbed and bought a pair although I absolutely trust her judgment on all things gardening- they are also pricey.

i have Felco secateurs and they are the best. I bought them years ago, maybe 10? they have never gone blunt. but they are expensive. i don't regret it one bit.

Wolf Garten.
These come in medium and large sizes. They take their 10 year warranty seriously and sent my mum not 1 but 2 new ones when something failed.

Felco are good, so are Darlac. Niwaki are very good but also extremely expensive.

Note to self: remember where the hell you put your niwaki secateurs. I also have a Wilkinson sword pair I love.
@StrawberryThief1930 I bet you'd find though that if they were sharpened, you'd notice a huge difference. Clean, sharpen and a little oil does wonders

There are a range of niwaki options. My pair were not expensive at all, they're just currently 'hiding' from me (ADHD problems). Having just checked, similar price to felco

I'm a big fan of Wolf Garten.
I use their secateurs and also have quite a few of their tools with the inter change handle system.
Their stuff is quite often available on Amazon as well as their website.

Felco. I had a flirtation with niwaki and some* of their stuff is brilliant but I prefer my Felcos by far.

Two advantages to felcos - lots of different sizes so suit my tiny ladyhands, and you can get them refurbished which basically means they rebuild them and they return sharp and fabulous even after a winter in the compost heap.

*especially their little shears with red handles and their mini hori hori and the gold spade they sell

Definitely Felco. I have Felco 7s with the rotating handle.

I’d heartily recommend Stihl electric ones - amazing! And effortless.
Manual ones, felco have always been well regarded.

Secateurs - it's either Felco or Niwaki. I'm left handed with carpel tunnel syndrome so use Felco 10s. Servicing service is excellent or maintain yourself. Niwaki - I have a left handed pair but they make my hands ache. They also do servicing but when I sent some hand shears off for servicing I returned them. They said they didn't work properly as it was my fault I am left handed!
Shears - I have ARS aluminium shears. Lovely and lightweight and again blades are replaceable.
