Do cat owners avoid planting spring bulbs in the garden?

I have recently redone my garden and was just about to do a bulb order. I will be getting kittens in a few weeks but will keep them inside for 6 months. Anyway just remebered to double check for toxic cat plants. Seems like all bulbs are a no go. So if you have cats do you not plant bulbs? Obviously cats will go into other gardens that you can't control.
I obviously want whats best for the cats but would quite like my garden to look. nice in spring also!

No I plant them

DM’s had cats since the 1980’s and has a garden full of spring bulbs. Never had an issue

Ive had 10 cats over the years and currently have two of my own and three next door. None of them have ever dug my bulbs up.
The only things I avoid planting are lilies.

I've had several cats, and always had spring bulbs, and summer ones come to that. I don't think my cats were particularly intelligent, except one, but they were all bright enough not to eat bulbs. I think you will be fine.

I've had cats and bulbs have never been a problem.

I have never known a cat to take the slightest interest in bulbs planted in the garden.

I plant them. Cats are generally intelligent enough to not eat things which are toxic to them.

I'll be more careful with things in the house like lily pollen because it gets on their fur and then they lick themselves, but never had any issue with plants in the garden.

Mine are smart enough not to nibble on bulbs, their leaves, or flowers. I think generally it's only dogs that may do stupid things like that? There are plenty of other plants toxic to mammals (foxglove, monkshood) but I doubt they kill many cats. As others have said, I don't plant lilies because of the toxic pollen that may stick to their fur when they brush past.

Do you have any cat friendly gardening plans? I'd plant long (cat) grass for hairball production. Give your kitties some legal highs by planting catnip, valerian, and any of the kiwi family (Actinidia, also sold as silvervine or matatabi) for the root. My mum's cat regularly tries to dig up their kiwi plant. Mind you, it can take a year or two from kittenhood before the drugs start to affect them.

I’ve got all manner of bulbs and also a cat. The only issue is that he uproots small ones like lily of the valley when he digs a hole to poo in.

Only issue we have had is with deschampsia species with the sticky finely serrated leaves. That resulted in two surgeries!

The fine deschampsia and non sticky grasses are fine.

I find the foxes dig up my new bulbs, they see nicely turned over soil and go looking for food.( earth worms)

The only plants I avoid are lilies due to the pollen if it gets on their fur and they ingest it , and lily of the valley
There are some very tall orange lilies in the garden that I didn't plant and the6 predate the cats but luckily as the stems are so tall they don't get near the flowers

I cover with chickenwire weighed down with a couple of bricks. For the sake of my bulbs as much as anything! The squirrels are relentless and freshly dug earth they love.

The only plant I won't have around the house is a lily. Bulbs are toxic if eaten by a cat, but I've never had a cat that was likely to dig up a bulb and eat it.

If you have outdoor cats they will wander through lots of gardens full of plants you can't control, that will doubtless be full of spring bulbs.
