I need a brown Rose bush or tree

Actually tree might be better but bush would do

It's for my 10 yo so needs to be a coffee/beige/caramelly colour rather than chocolate (I know that sounds bizarre but it's about her skin colour & she is mixed race)

I'm off on a course now but I'll be back either late tonite or early tomorrow

Thanks for looking

Katymac, I'm not sure what you're asking is possible. The closest thing to what you want will be in the colour range between yellow/orange/red. There is a rose by Harkness roses called 'hot chocolate', but at best it is a coppery tan colour. Some of the types may have naturally brownish leaves.

Have a look at some of the websites for Harkness roses and David Austin roses for inspiration.

Really?

What a shame - I thought flowers came in so many colours now

They do, but beige is hard to find in nature. There are some heucheras with bronze-ish foliage - would that be any help?

What are you trying to do/make? Tell us more and we'll try again!

She wants a brown rose - because she is being told "Roses don't come in brown" by a particularly unpleasant child - a rather nasty dig at DD's skin colour/name & I thought I'd try to find her one

Your daughter is beautiful and I do hope she likes the roses (Are any of them thorny? Maybe she could put one on the spiteful girl's chair? )

KatyMac · 30/06/2008 18:28

Thanks (I won't suggest it though.....'cos she might)
