Hello, I am a gcse student studying design and technology, as part of my coursework I am interested in creating something that will help people who enjoy gardening but for reasons are now finding it more challenging. I understand the importance and enjoyment that gardening brings to people and I would love to try to create something that will help make gardening easier for people who are now finding it more challenging so they can continue their passion. I would be very grateful if you could complete the following survey to help me with this. Thank you very much.

Hi there,

Your form asks for a Microsoft login on my phone - is there any way you can change that as I don't have one? Good luck with your survey. It's a very interesting topic.

Heya, I've worked with groups of gardeners who need accessible tools. A lot of the current solutions tend to revolve around buying new, fairly pricey tools (long handles or extra grips). Kneeler seats with handles are popular too, and trolleys.

I think what's missing in the market is something that can be attached to existing tools (trowel, hand fork) - and things that actually look beautiful rather than plastic-y. If you can design something beautiful, it'll be easier to convince those reluctant people who refuse to acknowledge they're getting wobbly in the garden 😅

You need to fix the Google Form version though - these questions don't actually have a field to fill in:
What prevents you from gardening as much as you would like to?
How does this condition prevent you from gardening as much as you would like to?
What aspect of gardening do you find most difficult?
How do you cope with this issue at the moment
What aspect of gardening do you practice the most? (For example, planting seeds or watering)

I started it but I can't think of any devices that would help me that do not already exist. Sorry! Good luck though.

I use a Spear & Jackson Razorsharp Easy Reach Pruner https://www.spear-and-jackson.com/products/garden-tools/razorsharp-cutting/other-cutting/razorsharp-easy-reach-pruner.

It has a grip for holding whatever you've cut. It's great for its intended purpose but it has changed my gardening life in that I can, if I'm careful not to cut them with the blades, pull most weeds out. It's obviously much, much slower than being able to kneel down and pull things out with my hand but it does grasp things well.

If someone invented and manufactured a lightweight tool with a very strong grip (possibly even an interchangable narrow and wide gripper) that is able to be lengthened or shortened to the user's needs I'm sure it would sell very well.
