Neighbour wars

OK, hopefully not the usual neighbour disagreements. So I had hours of work done in back garden scarifying, dethatching, aerating, top dressing, overseeding done In May after, I admit, few years of neglect when few experiences left me housebound, however have images of neighbour digging out bramble roots in front driveway from his side of boundary/ mine is concrete with proof on deeds. All grass seed took well after in back garden babying it morning to night. Now yes the current weather has damaged some, however neighbour keeps calling out "told you the hoe would kill it" as in hose given amount needed watering🙄 "that fertiliser didn't like her" 😑 given I couldn't have more kids. Many cruel remarks. The grass is dead in a shape that only neighbour cd reach. Do I re do it all, more bloody money I don't have or retaliate? All advice welcome

It's obvious you take great care in your garden and the likely hosepipe ban ns creating problems for newer plants etc.
Ignore the neighbours.
I'm not sure on the other bits. Sorry for your loss. x

I’m struggling to understand this, but if you’re disabled you should be exempt from the hosepipe ban so you could just water that part and see if it perks up. Although not if you’re housebound. But if you’re housebound how do you plan to “retaliate” and how did you hear these comments? When you say you have images do you mean photos? Of him doing gardening in his own garden? I don’t think comments about grass fertiliser are anything to do with being unable to have kids. Why would he even know given you clearly don’t like him? I’m a bit confused on several points here.

I really can't follow this. Is your issue that you've reseeded your back garden and there is a patch that isn't growing? It's not clear what's the issue got to do with your neighbour or with an inability to have children. I'm also confused as to whether this is about your back garden or front drive.

Sorry, I don't understand your post. I'm not sure if its all be auto corrected or maybe your first language isn't English? Can you re-write in 1 sentence what the issue with the neighbour is?

Bloodysauce · 25/07/2026 10:00

There's a drought. Crazy time of year to have a lawn put down. Leave your neighbour alone and put Titchmarsh on the telly.

Happyhope · 25/07/2026 10:36

Im not following either whats the issue.

Friendlygingercat · 25/07/2026 11:27

If there is a patch that isn't growing is it possible a cat or fox has peed on it?

Do check the local water company exemptions, new planting and disability means you may well be exempt.

Sadly twat neighbours can be anywhere, perhaps accidentally on purpose aim the hose at him.

Lol to 7238SM. Obviously not great at explaining! I will try again, and I am English, born an bread. I became housebound years ago when personal experiences caused life limiting anxiety. I do have mobility issues also. Lived in house 50+ yrs with same neighbour, used to talk so they aware of my infertility. Alot more to add but with respect don't want to type an essay of my life story! My Front garden, just an expression(cement driveway) - neighbour has wooden fence, claimed I damaged it, broke part of his fence from roots etc when brambles raided mine from his soil boarder under fence. Back garden, again wooden fence, I has work done to restore lawn. Derogatory comments as previously stated. Every time I feel able to go in back garden he starts. Half moon shape of dead grass only he could reach. Any questions do state an ill respond.

OP,
maybe get cctv for the back garden then you can see if he does anything in future
