Plant id please

I want to give this plant away but cannot grab the name from the recesses of my brain! Really common plant, early flowering (like March April if I remember rightly). As soon as you say it i'll be yes, of course!!!

Any descriptions such as height, colour, whether it has berries, scent?

Oh I thought no one would be interested without the photos 😊. It's a small shrub (about 50cm) roundish green glossy leaves. Slow growing. Smothered in flowers when it goes - this one is lilac but i also have an orangey coloured one.

I tried Google lens but it's not getting it

Is it berberis?

Or azalea?

I have an app called PlantNet on my phone. I take a photo and it comes up with the name.

Choisya or lilac is being thrown up by google mainly for the glossy leaves.

😆 I have a lovely pink one that was here when we moved in I like them! You should leave it outside with a sign for someone to take …. Maybe I’ll walk past 😉

I like them too but it's the wrong colour for the border I had it in. I put it on a local fb page and it's been taken. Hurray 😊
