Hello. Looking for some gardening advice. I am not very experienced!
I have a conservatory that backs out onto a patio. I would like to have some plants / trees in pots on the exterior of the conservatory to provide shade and help reduce solar gain. FYI, I have already had the roof replaced with proper insulation, tiles etc.
The exterior wall is shaded in the morning until about 1-2pm when it's full sun until sunset.
I would like the plants / trees to not exceed 6-7ft and will be fine to prune, maintain etc. I absolutely do not want bamboo and would ideally like native British plants.
I have shortlisted hazel, hornbeam and common dogwood. Wondering if anyone more experienced can advise
A) would these work or anything else be better?
B) any other recommendation beyond small trees to consider?
I plan to plant in Autumn.
Thank you for useful advice!
