I found this plant on a wall with a note saying 'Please take' so I did. I know it is a type of succulent but which one? And could someone point me in the direction of resources on how best to look after it? It deserves it.

Thanks!

It could be a euphorbia? Could you get a slightly better pic? Maybe a close up of the trunk with the knobbles

Cathedral cactus. Needs full sun, should be brought inside during heavy rain or cold weather <10C/frost.

Prefers to be too dry to too wet. Water every 3 weeks in summer… less than even monthly in winter. Don’t touch the sap, it stings.

What a magnificent plant! Well done for rescuing it @ISaySteadyOn .
I hope it thrives! 🌵💚

Thank you! It is currently in a south facing spot in direct sun. It was the watering I was wondering about.

I do actually have some cacti/succulent potting soil and was wondering about transplanting it into a bigger pot. The picture doesn't show but it's in a small pot in the bigger pot.

I will try to get a better picture but my phone camera is pretty rubbish.

That’s a good find. What a lovely plant. I love cactus plants.
