Plant in need of help

What can be done to save my plant? I saw some white mealy bugs on it. I wiped them but dh sprayed them with bug spray which I'm not sure was a good idea. Pic attached

Looks like a Hellebore where the flowers have died back, which is completely normal. Cut off the crispy flower stalks - it should come back into flower again next spring.

Where do I cut back to?

Just follow each dead flower stalk backwards and cut off near the base of the plant. Next year's flowers will be on new stalks.
