Inherited this very old pear tree a few years ago. Major historical damage to main trunk. Nearly all leaves affected as per photos. Single leaf image is underside of a leaf. Only had a few pears alternative years.
Assume this tree has come to the end of its productive life so planning to remove it later this year. However, there's a different variety of pear nearby also with some leaves affected. Assume similar age but without the major damage and still a prolific fruiter every year.
What could be causing this leaf damage and can I treat the productive tree?
