Clematis identification and advice

Please can anyone identify this clematis? There are shoots that are rampant all over the place and I wondered if I can just cut them off without damaging the plant?

It looks like clematis Montana 'Broughton Star', it's very beautiful. You can prune after flowering but I doubt it would do any major harm to cut back now, they're vigorous growers.

There’s really nowhere for these straggly shoots to go except onto the summerhouse or round other plants and I don’t want that.
l’ll wait till it’s finished flowering then get to work!

You can snip off the worst would -be offenders now I'm sure eg where its grabbing another plant. (agree with the id by the way)
