Front driveway

Can anyone give me some ideas about what to do with this patch at the top end of our front garden. We want to keep the driveway if that helps with suggestions. It’s south facing and is directly on a main road with a bus stop just a few meters away and that’s really why I’ve been struggling with what to do with it.

This bit? What’s under the gravelly stuff?

What's your idea in doing anything with this patch of land? Do you want it to obscure the view of your neighbours' lawns or to be decorative or utilitarian in some way? Also, do you want to keep that bush to the left? Do you have any other garden area in this part of your property? You say that it's directly on a main road. Does that mean that the main road is at the foot of your drive or is it at the bottom of the photo?

Could you plant a few lavender or rosemary plants along there?
They need very little maintenance, look good all year round, are great for pollinators and will smell lovely when you brush against them as you get out of your car.

Edited to say - I meant in the patch of soil highlighted by @VanillaIceIceBaby

I was thinking maybe a row of potentilla, berberis and rosemary. They are all good do-ers, don't grow fast, and don't need constant pruning.

Rosemary would be lovely, smells amazing, and gets tall enough to give a bit of screening there. And it doesn't mind (prefers!) poor gravelly soil.

Thanks for the ideas. I’m going to go with lavender and rosemary.
thank you
