We have a south-facing, windy garden and want to plant some bushes, partly to hide an ugly wall, and partly for birds to perch in as we plan to put bird feeders out there too.

It's only a small bit of garden so nothing that grows too big. Any suggestions?

We are in North Scotland but don't seem to suffer too badly with frost where we are, though as I say wind is an issue. Only a mile from the sea so slightly tang in the air if that is relevant.

It could be quite tough - a bit dry and salty and windy will dry stuff out quickly. Go for mediterranean stuff or seaside stuff eg buckthorn, rosemary can grow quite big, broom (if you can bear it), cotoneaster/pyrocantha/berberis any of those things with berries
