What is wrong with my rose?!

It’s only on its second year but I thought I pruned it ok over winter and fed it about a month ago/- it grew like mad but now looks really poorly. A lot of the leaves look like the one in the photo- all curled up and brown.

Any ideas? I thought I might just be not watering it enough but I’ve been redoubling recently to no avail…

Did you feed it the right amount? If you over feed they can sort of grow themselves to death, the same way that some weed killer works.

Oh dear, I tried to but I was probably a bit haphazard with the amounts tbh. If that’s the problem, is there anything I can do about it now?

Don't feed it. Plants do not need food to provide energy as mammals do, they make their own food by photosynthesis. Fertiliser contains additional stuff like minerals & trace elements. A sick plant can't use fertiliser and too much of it in the soil can poison it. A bit long-winded and scientifically technical, but trust me.

Chances are what you've got there is wind damage. It has been unusually warm, sunny and windy quite often for the time of year. Leave it alone, keep an eye out for aphids and treat those if you see them, and all should be well.
