the rose in the pit by the front door has died.
it's just not sunny enough and it get the occassional visit from dogs...

is there anything that could tolerate this?

or am I better off with new bedding plants every few months?

A Japanese Acer in a pot would do well in that position. If you could keep the dogs off.....!

A nice topiary bay is pretty indestructible. Or for something pretty a hydrangea as long as its not too gloomy there

Sarcococca is pretty tough and has a nice scent in winter.

Hydrangeas or camelia
