Window baskets full shade

Hi, I’m not green fingered at all but here to hopefully learn and get some advice! We’ve been given some lovely wall mounted planters - but the only place we have space to mount them is in a shaded area of the garden that gets little to no sun. Is there anything we can plant that will flower in full shade? I love the look of trailing flowering plants like lobelia but not sure if that would thrive in such a shady area? Would love some ideas/tips for a complete novice!

How about Periwinkle. Trailing evergreen leaves with pretty flowers about now.

The advantage over lobelia is that periwinkle is perennial so you'll have it for years.

Other ideas of plants that will thrive there - ferns, hostas, cyclamen, astrantia, astilbe, brunnera, hellebore, primroses, tete a tete daffodils. If you planted a mix of these you'd have something to enjoy year round.

I love gardening for shade.

Thanks so much for these ideas!! Would be just lovely to have a year round mix - I’m off the local garden centre now to see what I can find! Thanks again Smile

Some trailing variegated ivy would look nice too
