Dhalia - help locate a bulb

Justmyramblings · 20/03/2026 17:39

I’m hoping to find a specific Dhalia bulb - “Moira” Any advice as seems a tricky one to find in UK, it’s not stocked in main garden centres / online. Thanks!

Do you have a picture? ChatGPT seems to think it doesn’t exist or is misspelled, but it did suggest trying growers groups. Are you on Facebook? There’s a Dahlia group, maybe someone on there has heard of it?

They’re called tubers, not bulbs for dhalias.
Not being an arse - jus that the right name may help with the internet search! Flowers

The RHS doesn't recognise that as a cultivar. If you are trying to track down a specific plant the RHS plant finder is generally pretty good. It will show if any online nursery stocks it.

And spelt Dahlia!

Ah, yes. Sorry, written quickly at a party.

The only Moira I can find is a chrysanthemum (it does look a bit like cactus dahlia). Do you have a picture or colour description for reference?

Justmyramblings · 23/03/2026 01:09

i’m an eejit! Thanks for your replies. It is indeed a chrysanthemum, Moira, that I’m looking for. Will maybe start again with a new post. Thanks all!🌸

Had a look at some Dutch chrysanthemum growers but they don't have it either. Looks like it's American, and rare over there too? As far as I know dahlias don't really do smoke shades. This looks a bit similar - Couture:
