Are Thompson Morgan, Dobies and Suttons the same company and any good?

Need some plug plants that don’t seem to be stocked elsewhere.

Not sure of ownership but I avoid T&M and Dobbies after previous bad experiences.

Suttons and Thompson Morgan are owned by the same company. Dobbies is not.

Dobbies used to be owned by Tesco iirc. Not sure if they still are.

Hi I wouldn’t buy plug plants from any of them tbh they are likely to be the tiniest things you have ever seen, I was tricked into buying plug lavender last year, smaller than my pinky finger, none survived even though I’m normally good with plants. I’d either grow from seed (my passion tbh) or buy from somewhere you can see what you are getting .

I’ve bought seeds from Dobies (different company to Dobbies) and T&M but I do think they are related in some way as they nearly always have the same offers on. I’ve had plug plants and bulbs from T&M and they’ve been ok but I wouldn’t want to pay full price for the quality so I do tend to wait for deals (the £3 bulb one is my favourite)

They are all in common ownership and share the same directors. Dobies (my assumption you meant Dobbies, my apologies) is "A division of Branded Garden Products Limited". A quick look on Companies House and Branded Garden Products' registered office address is Thompson and Morgan, Poplar Lane, Copdock. Its PSC is Thompson and Morgan. T&M Topco owns them all.

I once made the mistake of ordering both T&M and Suttons catalogues, they have exactly the same plants and photos but in a different order. What a waste of time for whoever has to put that together!
